Everything we write about, everything you will learn is only on a conceptual level. Until you experience them in real life events and situations, their transformative effects on you and your personality will be very minimal, but we have to start somewhere.
Accepting what is and isn't.
However you move through your inner world — whether that's sitting in silence, chanting, praying, dancing, creating art, meditating or simply not knowing yet — this is half of the work. The remaining half is how we internalize the situations and the events in our lives and furthermore, how we are able to deal with them.
Offerings
Here the first step and our most powerful tool for this is our attention and our focus. Once we are able to maintain our focus and sit down to do our meditation, we also need to work on "letting go" and "not trying" in order to help ourselves to fall into a natural meditative state.
But how does one get to the meditative state? Not so easy, is it? Anyone can teach you how to meditate, there are numerous techniques but no one can actually make you meditate.
Neither can we but we know one thing: how to cultivate the mind and the body for it to awaken this energy that is already inside of you and once it is awakened, we connect to it to begin our inner journey.
We are creating groups that are ideally between 8 to 9 people. Each group will have one leader and one aid.
For the ones who have devoted themselves to full-time Meditation, the physical gatherings at their center will be twice a day, during dawn and dusk.
At the minimum, each group leader will organize at least one physical meditation gathering per week.
Monthly Q&A sessions on Self Realization, and how to integrate this into our lives. A space for honest questions — an inquiry into what is unfolding within us and how to deal with it.
→One-on-one time with Jem. A private space to share your inner journey, ask what you cannot ask in a group, and receive guidance specific to where you are on your path.
→To support the inner awakening, we further cultivate the path through monthly mini silent retreats. Each month, during the full moon, we will meet at one of the group leader's or members' homes, or at the meditation center, to practice silence and stillness. This could range from two to three days per month.
→Apart from the meditations, we will also spend time in nature — gathering early in the morning to watch the sunrise and the sunset at dusk, sometimes followed by a short walk with some light yoga. We will arrange outings in nature: the forest, the beach, anywhere we can connect to nature.
→Rules & Dynamics
Rules
This is not a social group, we are gathered here for each of us to walk on our own path. Sharing your own journey with others is not advised, if you have to, then you can, with your leader and only with them.
We welcome your "presence", your "silence and stillness". This is not an intellectual spirituality platform.
No "answer questions" (meaning; questions where you yourself are answering your own questions).
Members can of course socialize between themselves on their own time but not during group events.
We will also have monthly Q&A sessions on Self Realization. Keep in mind: talking prior to "Self Realization" only adds confusion for all! "Save yourself first"
Dynamics
The aim of all the activities is to support each other's inner world. Achieving a more balanced and calm inner state will help all of us in dealing with the demands of the outer world. We all still need to fine-tune our inner skills when facing challenging events in our lives.
We all end up wearing a mask, be it of a spouse, a mother, a father, a son, a daughter, a sibling, a boss, an employee and many many more. We rarely can be our true self. Sometimes we are not even aware that we have a mask on. This is a space, where you can lay down all your masks and be yourself. A way to find out who we truly are beyond that social identity.
In facing ourselves, we can get in touch both with the darkness & the light within us, as we do our inner work. By realizing our essence and resting there, in time and with practice we are able to face our triggers and learn how to see and feel through them, which will all dissolve in front of us.
The inner work will also guide us towards seeing and feeling our calling & start working and living the life of our true purpose.
When our teacher works for hours with endless motivation for our group, we sometimes ask him where he finds the energy to do all this work. He tells us that, "when they look at me from the outside, to them, what I'm doing might look like work, but for me, since I love what I am doing, I don't see it as work and instead of it draining me, it energizes me."
Our aim for all is to find what they love so that they will never feel drained or tired from what they do but always feel energized and uplifted and making what you love your work, as it is often said, "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life" — and let your service serve you and others to create a life that is both meaningful and fulfilling.
Giving your time to any part of this will help heal, at least to some extent, almost all chronic diseases, be it physical, mental, or emotional.
There are times when we will need to face some of our challenges alone but we don't have to build or prepare ourselves alone. Each one of us in our group is here for each other to help one another on our journey.
